To our TJF Family & Friends: You’ve been asking since our last appearance at HLS&R in 2020 – and finally, we’re returning! The entire event was cancelled last year due to the pandemic, but we hope & pray this year’s event proceeds without a hitch because we are ready to get you dancing & partying like you did 2 years ago. Please share across social media. Let’s sell out the Wine Garden again!

The family core of TJ Funk, consisting of Chris, Jesse, and Ronnie Casas, began performing together in the spring of 1984 with their band Mystique. In the year 2000, Chris began managing and renamed the group TJ Funk. The band has always taken pride in the ability to appeal to the masses by performing covers of a variety of dance music. With its signature horn section, TJ Funk has strong roots in R&B/Funk, Country, Classic Rock, and Disco. When the occasion calls, the band can perform genres from Big Band Swing to Latin Big Band to Tejano music. With a vast song library, the band can perform an R&B/Funk/Classic Rock gig one night and a Big Band Swing gig the next.

Vocal harmonies are as vital to the signature of the band as is our horn section. Male and female lead vocalists accompanied by superb background vocals provide us with the opportunity to offer many ranges of musical styles. It is an identifiable trait the band takes great pride in.

After 35+ years, musicians have come and gone, music has certainly changed, but the band has always focused on offering dance music of all genres and continues to deliver music that is hard to resist.

No matter the occasion, the music selection, or the crowd, the professional standard of TJ Funk is steadfast and our goal has been, and always will be, to provide a high-quality performance that will impress, entertain, and have you excited to spread the name.

Brother Element is a splinter band of TJ Funk with a smaller group in number of musicians, but not in musical quality and variety. While this band also offers covers of R&B/Funk, Classic Rock, Country, Tejano, and Soul, there is a greater emphasis on music of the ‘80s. Although sharing common interests with our larger group, Brother Element is working on establishing its own sound and identity.

Carrying a smaller horn section, we still offer male and female lead vocalists, vocal harmonies, and the ability to perform with a hard groove, enticing the toe-tappers and chair dancers onto the dance floor.

If you’re in search of a more compact group with a big sound, Brother Element is the band you’re looking for!
